Senior Real Estate Analyst / Review Appraiser
The Houston Public Works Department of the City of Houston includes Real Estate Services (RES) which acquires and sells property for the City. RES primarily supports the City’s service line known as Capital Projects for improving the City’s infrastructure to support the growing demand of the city. The RES Appraisal team primarily provides support to the Land Acquisition and Asset Management teams. The core task in RES Appraisal is to review appraisals performed by independent fee appraisers on properties being acquired or sold by the City. Most acquisition appraisals will be related to Eminent Domain and acquisition for easement purposes although other appraisals will focus on City-owned assets (mainly land valuation and depreciated value of public improvements) to be sold or transferred. HPW RES is one of, if not the best municipal real estate team(s) in the country. As the 4th largest City in the nation, we seek experienced appraisers who have the knowledge and skills to review appraisal reports objectively and in accordance with USPAP. HPW RES Appraisal hopes to tap into the practiced expertise and developed wisdom of the prospective candidate as we continue to build the appraisal review team.
